This note concerns Mehdi Quli Khan, also called Majd al-Dawla. A son-in-law of Nasir al-Din Shah, this letter appoints him as Master of the Royal Household. He is mentioned in Bamdad's Dictionary of National Biography of Iran, 1700-1960, Vol. IV, Tehran, 1966, p. 179.
