Of thin gauge brass hammered to a shallow semicircular shape with rolled rim, the interior with a central rosette formed of seven radiating panels filled with one of the beatific names of God in nasta'liq against a scrolling floral ground, the sides entirely filled with very finely written bands of naskh inscriptions, the exterior similarly filled with legible naskh inscriptions around ogival roundels containing the elegantly drawn signs of the zodiac against a black composition ground, the upper band with the thuluth names of the twelve Imams amongst scrolling vine again against a black composition ground, old splits and repairs, base rubbed
