Lot Essay

Two identical tiles with repaired breaks were sold in these Rooms 28 April 1992, lot 236, and are now in the Khalili Collection (Rogers, J.M.: Empire of the Sultans, Ottoman Art from the Collection of Nasser D.Khalili, London, 1995). Further examples are in the Tareq Rajab Museum in Kuwait.
