Pauillac, 1er cru class. Chteau-bottled
Levels: eleven top-shoulder or better and one upper-shoulder
Tasting note: 1964 is notorious but misunderstood. Heavy rain part way through the vintage did catch out those chteaux picking late, and it is to be admitted that Lafite was one. Nonetheless, though not a big wine it is fragrant, attracive and drinking pleasantly. M.B.
