1 dozen bottles per dozen
Details
Taylor--Vintage 1963
Bottled by Grants of St. James's. Embossed wax capsules. Lightly bin-soiled labels. Levels good
Over two dozen notes since 1968, mostly since 1980. Originally a block-buster, no matter whether English- or Oporto-bottled. Though deep, suddenly showing maturity from the mid-1980s. The most recent, Oporto-bottled, was palish, retaining very little red. Peppery spirit, toffee and tobacco on the nose heralds a powerful, lively wine with not only the Taylor backbone but quite a kick. Still a fairly sweet mouthful. M.B.
