The waisted case surmounted by an ormolu figure of Chronos, inlaid in cut brass with foliate scrolls and festive figures, with female mask to the trunk and glass lenticle within a foliate cast frame, the spreading plinth supported on paw feet to the front, with a further female mask mount to the base between, the cast bronze dial applied with individual white enamel Roman cartouche chapters and outside Arabic five minutes (some cracks and chips), the plain enamel centre signed MARTINOT A PARIS, the movement with pinwheel escapement and pendulum swinging behind the dial plate, rack strike on bell mounted on a plate above the movement
