Private M. Moran was in the Mounted Infantry Company of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and posted missing after the Battle of Talana Hill. He was not confirmed as a Prisoner of War until the fate of Colonel Moller's force became known and he was released eight months later when Pretoria was taken.
