Attributed to Lieutenant P.H. Normand, D.S.O., Imperial Light Horse, a member of Ladysmith's garrison, afterwards Governor of the Transvaal Prisons Department. He was awarded the D.S.O. for gallantry on Wagon Hill on 6.1.1900, where he was wounded.
