Private F.W. Page was dangerously wounded in the famous charge on Wagon Hill and died of his wounds on 31.1.1900. He is commemorated on the 1st Battalion, Devonshire Regiment memorial which was erected on the spot where the charge took place and remembers those 'who fell in the gallant and successful charge made across this place by three companies during the fight on 6th January, 1900'. The names of three Officers, three Non-Commissioned Officers and 16 Privates are recorded.
