D.C.M. London Gazette 27.9.1901.

Corporal M.J. Gresty, D.C.M., was decorated for the Defence of Ladysmith and was also Mentioned in Despatches by General White and General Roberts (London Gazette 8.2.1901 refers).

When Private Pitts', Manchester Regiment, Victoria Cross for Caesar's Camp was sold at Glendining's in 1968, a note with the lot stated that Gresty was decorated for this action also.
