Captain G. Hudleston served on the Staff during the relief of Ladysmith and was Mentioned in Despatches by Lord Roberts (London Gazette 10.9.1901 refers). Later in the War he served as a Railway Staff Officer and was recommended for, but did not receive, a further award (War Office records refer).
