Major Benjamin Herbert Piercy, as a Captain in the Denbighshire Hussars, commanded a Company of the 20th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry (Roughriders) and was Mentioned in Despatches by Lord Roberts (London Gazette 10.9.1901 refers). The "Roughriders" were a Special Corps of the I.Y. raised by Lord Latham.
