Trooper E.B. Grant was wounded on Spion Kop.

He enlisted in Thorneycroft's Mounted Infantry at the Show Ground, Pietermaritzburg on 27.10.1900 and took his discharge in November 1901. On his attestation form, Grant stated that he had served in the Royal Sussex Regiment, Mashonaland Mounted Police and Cape Mounted Police.
