Acting 2nd Class Warrant Officer F. Boschen was wounded during the defence of Wepener.
During the Great War he served in France with the 2nd South African Infantry and qualified as a Sniper 1st Class. Again wounded in action on 28.9.1917, by a gunshot to his right thigh, he subsequently died of blood poisoning on 23.3.1918.
