Lot Essay

The Border Horse, 200 strong, was raised in Cape Colony in February 1900 and in the forefront of the relief of Wepener. After the relief they continued in the Colonial Division and took part in the advance towards the Brandwater Basin where Prinsloo and his 4000 men surrendered. The Regiment was disbanded in June 1901.
