Sold with original Mention in Despatches Certificate (dated 22.11.1916), and a period photograph of 'the German Adjutant-General and his Staff, surprised at breakfast, tied up and captured by Lieutenant Crosbie ... Captured 9.9.1916, photograph taken 16.9.1916, Morogora P.M.'s Office' (reverse handwritten caption refers).

D.C.M. London Gazette 13.2.1917 'For conspicuous gallantry in action. With the assistance of only one man, he captured eleven of the enemy under very difficult conditions.'
