Lot Essay

Sergeant C.W. Edwards was wounded at Stinkhoutboom on 24.7.1900 in a clash with Theron's Scouts. Five of de Wet's wagons were captured during the action and Kitchener's Horse held off a sustained Boer attack. Edwards was discharged from the Regiment on 23.1.1901 and became the Regimental Sergeant-Major of Warren's Mounted Infantry.
