Private A. Horsfield was killed in action at Geluk on 25.8.1900, during General Buller's advance north. Prior to the attack on Belfast (or Bergendaal), Buller entrenched his troops on a ridge north of Geluk. On 25.8.1900 his outposts were continually fired on and the camp shelled in the evening.
