Lieutenant Hugh Peverill Pigott died of enteric and pleurisy at Standerton Hospital on 18.11.1900. He had received his commission in Thorneycroft's Mounted Infantry in March 1900. The son of Major J.C.M. Pigott, Reserve of Officers, late Berkshire Regiment, Pigott was 22 years old at the time of his death. He had attended Repton School.
