Vinet 775 refers to the work as being very useful to all interested in history and iconography for the particulars of the ceremonies in Moscow, and for the costumes of the court and clergy. The manuscript was edited by Beketov (1761-1836), one of the foremost printers of the day, whose activities were interrupted by Napoleon's invasion and the subsequent fire in Moscow which closed the press and destroyed much of Beketov's stock.
