WILLIAM (BILLY) HAINES, CIRCA 1950

The offered lot is an example of a "signature" William Haines design. The elbow chair was interpreted in both contemporary and classic models, and was seen in a majority of the decorator's commissions. This chair was meant to be sat on sideways with the low backrest designed as an elbow rest.
