Okawachi, Nabeshima Ware, Edo Period (18th Century)
Decorated with ribbonate flowerheads in reserve against a pale underglaze-blue ground and in red, yellow and green enamels, probably later added over the clear glaze, the underside also painted below the rim with an irregular band of pale blue matching the interior and with a triple-lotus arabesque in underglaze-blue of varying intensity, the high foot painted with a 'comb-tooth' band in underglaze-blue
