Meiji Period (Late 19th Century), Gilt Mark Takayama Shozan Ga
Painted in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear crackled glaze with two Chinese lions in peonies, a formal band of chrysanthemums around the shoulder and the edge of the cover, the finial decorated with a gilt chrysanthemeum, and the spout with formal chrysanthemum sprays, the bamboo handle covered with fine copper mesh
