A Cylindrical Earthenware Flower Vase
Taisho Period (Early 20th Century)
Formed as a handscroll and resting on a black lacquer disk-shaped stand, painted in polychrome emamels and gilt over a clear crackled glaze, the moulded tie running around the scroll and looped into a knot on the reverse, the body enameled with flower and bamboo-shaped reserves of various geometric patterns, the ends of the scroll rollers painted with chrysanthemum heads
