FIRST EDITION, an excellent copy internally containing beautifully executed plates of a selection of the most 'photogenic' Indian insects. As Donovan makes clear in the introduction he intended the present work to be seen as volume II of a 'General Illustration of Entomology', he also notes that the majority of the specimens are from his own collection, with a minority from Sir Joseph Banks' cabinet as well as the "noble collections of Mr.Francillon, Mr.Drury, and some others".
