The rectangular top with pearl-bead border, above a cylinder body with palmette frieze, centred by a laurel wreath with scrolling foliage to each side, flanked to each side by conforming mounts, opening to reveal a pull-out gilt-tooled green leather writing surface, surmounted by a frieze with three drawers, above a knee-hole frieze, with a central drawer, flanked to the left by two smaller drawers and to the right by one double drawer, the sides mounted with scrolling palmette and rosettes, on four circular tapering legs, with foliate cast sabots
