A FROUP OF EIGHT JADE ANIMAL FIGURES
18th/19th century
Comprising: a celadon goose, depicted with the head turned back to the right; a white jade carving of confronting cats, one worked with a dragonfly carved in relief on the shoulder; a celedon figure of a recumbant cat with the head raised and the mouth open, the stone with russet inclusions; a russet and grey jade recumbant water buffalo, the legs tucked under the large body and the head turned to the left; an apple green, russet and grey jade three-legged toad, the spots and features carved in low relief; a light grey jade recubant deer, worked with the legs tucked under the body, the head turned and looking backward, a lingzhi branch held in the mouth, the stone with even russet flecking; a light grey jade carving of a cat and kitten affectionately curled up together; a pink and grey hardstone figure of a crouching cat
