Both of rectangular form, the larger with a single panel door opening to the side revealing three interior drawers, designed with autumn grasses in gold lacquer on a black lacquer ground, brass mounts and top handle; the smaller with two panel doors opening to three drawers, the exterior decorated with a temple in a pine forest, the interior depicting deer within a natural setting in gold lacquer on a aogai and fundame ground, silver door pulls and lock plate, velvet lined drawer interiors
