American, probably late 19th century
Featuring a dark brown painted animal body grip carved in the round with metal nail head eyes, articulated ears and snout and two hind legs twisting and turning above an irregular cylindrical dark brown painted tapering stripped-branch shaft, metal tip missing, with two nails through bottom of shaft; together with a carved walking stick with attached twisting and turning grip carved at the end with a duck's head and glass-bead eyes, and incised beak above a tapering cylindrical shaft
