The acorn-carved finial above a white-painted dial face with Roman numeral chapter ring over an glomis throat decorated with a gilt urn issuing foliage above the inscription "S. Willard" over an eagle above "PATENT" flanked by pierced spandrels over a box base above a gilt bracket with spherules and acorn dropped pendant, inscribed inside, "Molly Pitcher/Battle of Monmouth/J", base probably replaced
