Lot Essay

It is possible that the signature on the present vitrine was applied later. However, the construction of the carcass, with its pegged top to secure the marble slab, and the use of the 'crab' mount, would indicate that it is in fact a Linke piece.

See lot 507 for a note on Franois Linke.
