Late 17th century, makers mark LR with a fleur-dy-lys beneath, for Leonard Rothaer, Hamburg, circa 1690, date letter "D", (stamped also with a later mark for St Petersberg 1788)
Of tapering cylindrical form engraved with a band of fruit and drapery garlands on a gilt ground and with a later presentation inscription "J. H. MICHAEL COLE FROM HIS GRANDFATHER 1878"
