A pair of Cantonese baluster vases and domed covers
with Buddhistic lion finials, painted and gilt with shaped panels of dignitaries and ladies on terraces and before pavilions alternating with birds and butterflies amongst flowers, all on green gold scroll grounds, the shoulders and feet with bands of butterflies in flight amongst dense fruit and flower sprays -- 16in. (40.5cm.) high, 19th Century, (one with crack to neck, one cover broken around the rim, the other with small rim chips).
