Simmons, Royal Engineers, the interior with compartments enclosed within the lid, elaborately stamped at the clasp HANDFORD PATENT TRUNK NO 6 STRAND LONDON (and with the Royal coat of arms), the interior similarly labelled--30 x 15 x 14in. (76.5 x 38 x 36cm.), circa 1840
