A German fayence pewter-mounted tankard
possibly Knersberg, painted in manganese, blue, yellow and green and outlined in black with a spray of stylised flowers issuing from rockwork, the hinged cover with a ball thumbpiece, engraved with initials, circa 1750 (damages) -- 22cm. high; another painted in a similar palette with Oriental huts between palm trees, blue MB mark, late 18th century (mounts later, cracks) -- 26.5cm. high overall; and a powdered-manganese-ground pewter-mounted tankard painted with a horse within a quatrefoil panel, late 18th century (damages and restoration) -- 17.5cm. high
