'The Old Port on the south Coast' depicts Littlehampton. A larger version of this picture is illustrated in Ruth Wood's book 'Benjamin Williams Leader His Life and Paintings' pl. 52, page 98. From sketches made on the spot by the artist it is known that the paddle harbour tug is the Jumna'.
We are grateful to Ruth Wood for her kind assistance in cataloguing this lot.
