An Italian carved and gilded frame, 17th Century,
with ovolo at outer edge; raised saw-tooth band; the ogee with elaborate incised acanthus leaves to the corners, the centres of the ogee with waisted reposes, these with further saw-tooth incisions; the ground of the ogee stippled; astragal sight edge -- 14 1/2 x 11 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. (36.8 x 28.6 x 10.7 cm.)
