The 1970-71 Scottish Cup final was won by Celtic in the replay at Hampden Park on 12th May 1971 when Celtic defeated Rangers 2-1 before 103,297 spectators. Wallace was a substitute for Harry Hood in the replay. However, he played the whole of the first match which ended in a 1-1 draw before 120,027 spectators
