Details

Prince is tired
signed Helen Bradley and with a fly both lower left, signed again, inscribed and dated on a label attached to the backboard "Prince is tired", said Grandpa. "I/think we will walk the rest of the way/home", but he let George and I, Grandma/and Mrs Maitland ride because, he said,/Prince wouldn't think we were very/heavy. We had been with forks and/trowels to gather Dandelion Roots. There/were plenty of big roots on the lanes/behind Blackpool. Grandma had them/washed and then baked in the oven and/when they were ready Grandma would/grind then up to make our Dandelion/coffee. Poor Miss Carter (who wore Pink)/said that she couldn't walk any further./She had a blister on her heel, so Grandpa/said, "Come along, you must ride home", and the year was 1906./Helen Layfield Bradley 1973.
