A large Chinese blue and white baluster vase
with flaring neck and moulded mask ring handles, painted with a broad band of a phoenix perched on rockwork amongst chrysanthemums and leaves, the reverse with swallows and butterflies in flight above lotus flowers and blossoming branches, all within bands of stiff leaves to the neck and foot -- 23in. (60.3cm.) high, Qianlong seal mark to base, 19th Century, (chip to one ring handle).
