A French gilt-brass striking and repeating carriage clock, last quarter 19th century
The pillars case with part-fluted columns, dentil cornice mouldings and arched side glasses, with engine-turned mask to the silvered dial also with engine-turned centre and Arabic chapter ring, blued steel simple Roman hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement (possibly associated), strike/repeat on gong to the backplate stamped for Richard & Co. -- 5in. (13cm.) high
