A George III mahogany longcase clock, last quarter 18th century
The hood with Greek key front cornice to the flat top hood, glazed side panels and brass-capped pilasters, the arched top trunk door flanked by chamfered angles, with quatreform mouldings (part lacking) to the plinth on raised skirting, the 11in. wide one-piece silvered arched dial engraved with flower spandrels and with displayed eagle to the arch, the centre with engraved subsidiary seconds and date aperture, signed Robert Dovers Bath, cut steel hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 87in. (223cm.) high
