"In my recent work I have used crochet, quotes from literary sources, automatic writing and gibberish to examine, through writing, memory and the experience of living in two cultures through writing. When I unroll the structure of a crochet textile, when I draw it, and work on it, I have developed a way of noting time. When I use texts like those of Garca Mrquez, Voltaire and Marguerite Duras and introduce them into a circular shape like a crochet knitting, I have referred to organic and nervous webs, to the various layers of imagination, the threads of the city and the internet. In the same way, when exploring language as intrinsic to thought and communication, I have represented the flavours of living between two cultures; when I separate the texts, the fabrics and deconstruct them. I have looked at each fragment as a meaning and metaphor of the infinite connections between cultures."
