A PAIR OF VISIGOTHIC BRONZE RADIATE-HEADED FIBULAE

Each with semicircular 'chip carved' head plate with arched bow connecting to the triangular foot plate which terminates in a stylized animal head, the head plate with openwork border of conjoined stylized bird heads, one with attachment ring, 5 in. (13.3 cm.) long max.; two similar bronze fibulae, each with semicircular head with three digits, arched bow, one with triangular, the other with rectangular foot plate, circa 5th Century A.D., 4 in. (11.4 cm.) and 2.7/8 in. (7.4 cm.) long respectively; and three Frankish silvered iron buckles, two dorsals and a counter-plate, all decorated with niello geometric or interlinking scroll patterns, some with bronze bosses, all circa 6th-7th Century A.D., 6 in. (15.2 cm.) long max. (10)
