The conjoined bottles of pear shape painted in a continuous scene with two pairs of doves divided by a collared small dog amidst grasses and bamboo, no stoppers

Lot Essay

It is unusual to find this particular design painted in blue and white rather than the ubiquitous famille rose examples bearing iron-red Daoguang marks from the Jingdezhen kilns. Apparently the Emperor and his consort were fond of doves and small dogs respectively
