The Lamentation

The prototype of circa 1628, painted for the high altar of the Church of the Beguinage in Antwerp, is now in the Muses Royaux des Beaux-Arts, Antwerp (E. Larssen, The Paintings of Anthony van Dyck, 1988, I, fig.225; II, p.287, no.718).
