A silver gilt cup-and-cover, a lemon and an orange in a wan-li dish, an orange on a pewter plate and an upturned roemer on a draped marble ledge

Little is known about the artist, who was born in 's-Hertogenbosch but who must have been active in Amsterdam where he married in 1655. The present lot is typical for his oeuvre, showing his indebtness to Willem Kalff in the composition and in the treatment of the light.
