The composition repeats that of Jan Brueghel's picture, signed and dated 1606, sold at Sotheby's London, 11 July 1979, lot 15, ill.: omitted is the group of figures in the left hand corner and added is the dog in the centre and the farms in the distance on the right. Another version, attributed to Jan Brueghel II, was sold at Christie's London, 27 November 1970, lot 33, ill.
