A pair of George II cast candlesticks,
on shaped circular bases with sunken centres decorated in relief with two lion masks, flowers and scrolls, the columns modelled as the demi-figure of a putto issuing from a rocaille scroll and supporting aloft husk decorated capitals, engraved with one crest and another minute crest on the base, inscribed underneath, each one with a scratchweight "24-18" and "24-14" maker's mark slightly worn, probably a variation of Simon Jouet's mark, 1747, (detachable nozzles) - 25.5cm high, 49oz.
