Cloisonn Late 15th/Early 16th Century, Mounts Possibly 17th Century
Boldly decorated with a grape vine reserved on a white ground, applied with a pair of gilt-bronze lion-mask handles, with gilt-bronze mounts and raised on three cabriole legs, the base cast with a Jingtai four-character mark within a square
4in. (12cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The enamel decoration is similar to that on a tripod censer of comparable size and date illustrated by Brinker and Lutz, Chinese Cloisonn, The Pierre Uldry Collection, New York, 1989, no. 31.
